By checking in I inadvertently entered into a drawing/promotion between BART and 4Square that would get me a great deal. My neighborhood bar(Shotwell's Bar on 20th and Shotwell SF) literally 20 paces from my front step offers $1 drinks for anyone who shows they've *checked-in*. You don't even need to be the Mayor... but if you are you get to pick the music that's playing... and considering how much I *would* spend on the Juke box this is actually a great deal.
